Dear Vietnam – You Are So Lovely

We spent (most of) February in Vietnam – my first country in Asia. Despite some light initial culture shock in Hanoi, I found Vietnam to be so lovely.

A few of my favorite highlights: riding Soviet-style motorbikes through the back alleys of Hanoi… Kayaking through fishing villages along the foggy cliffs of Hạ Long Bay… Giggles and herbal baths and rice paddies and wipeouts in the mud mountains of Sa Pa. And a quiet ride along the river in Ninh Bình on a misty Saturday.
